If a person is experiencing symptoms like coronavirus then they should be careful of certain things so that the virus does not spread any further

People are nervous now due to coronavirus. The number of Covid-19 patients in India has reached 171. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has advised people to stay in their homes and not to leave. Along with this, he also said that the burden should not be increased on the hospitals. For general ailments, you can consult your family doctor over the phone.

At this time, the worst state is that of those who suffer symptoms like cough, cold, and fever. Since the primary symptoms of the coronavirus are also cough, cold and fever, people are getting very nervous in these conditions. Let us tell you what should you do if you or someone in your family have these symptoms.

The most important thing

Coughs, colds, and fever are not at all an indication that you are a victim of coronavirus. According to experts, there may be more than 2000 conditions and diseases, due to which you may have these three. Especially in March, because of the effect of rain and cold still lingers in many states, people are more likely to get sick from things like the common flu. So if you have these problems, don’t be scared. Now know what you should do in such a situation.

What to do if you live alone?

There are many people who live alone in cities other than their families, especially students and employed people. If a person lives alone and has a cough, cold, or fever, it is important to stay home. The person should be alone for at least 7 days after first showing cough or cold symptoms. If you see that the situation worsens in these 7 days, you should wear a mask and contact the nearest hospital or call the help number issued by the government.

Remember to leave only if you are wearing a mask.

What to do if you live with your family?

If you live with your family and some member shows symptoms, it is important to keep in mind some general things:

  • It is recommended that the affected person and their family do not leave the house for at least 14 days after the first member shows symptoms.
  • In such a situation, arrange a separate room for the family member who has the first symptoms of a cough, cold, and fever.
  • Gather all the necessary materials for that person in this room and ask them not to leave the room.
  • For that person, make the right arrangements for soap, disinfectant, towels, sheets, pillows, masks, handkerchiefs, and essential medications on the first day.
  • During the 14 days, other family members should also wash their hands with soap for at least 20 seconds before putting their hands to their mouth, nose, or eyes.
  • Other than this, keep a distance of at least 3 feet (1 meter) from the patient for necessary things and work.
  • If there is any seriousness in the patient’s condition during these 14 days, such as shortness of breath, vomiting or cough, etc., you should take her to the nearest government hospital.
  • Keep in mind that during this time, both the patient and the person accompanying them must leave wearing masks.

What to do if other family members show symptoms?

If within these 14 days the same symptoms are observed in any other family member, then make separate arrangements for the other member to stay for the next 7 days from the day the symptoms appear and wait.

It is important to note here that if the same symptoms are observed in another member, that member’s quarantine period will be considered from the day the symptoms begin to appear, i.e. the next 7 days.

No need to panic

If you or a family member shows symptoms like a cough, cold, or fever, there is no need to panic. The first thing is that, according to the Indian government, the coronavirus has not yet spread at the community level, so if you have not recently traveled abroad or have not met someone who has returned from abroad, then it is highly unlikely that it is a victim of the coronavirus. Colds and fever are also due to other reasons this season. Other types of flu are also contagious, so they can be passed from one person to another. So if 2 or more family members also have a cough, cold and fever, there is no need to panic.

Be careful with the elderly.
